Between Plan de Corones and Alta Badia, the most beautiful ski areas of the Dolomites, in San Martin de Tor
San Martin de Tor lies in the middle of Val Badia, between San Vigilio di Marebbe and Alta Badia. The village is part of the Plan de Corones ski area, reachable through the Piculin lift. The connection with the Alta Badia and Sellaronda is guaranteed by a free and convenient ski bus service. Both areas are part of the Dolomiti Superski carousel.
But Val Badia offers a wide array of activities also for those who do not ski or wish to try out a new sport: snow shoe excursions in the Fanes Sennes Braies and Puez Odle natural parks (both part of Dolomites UNESCO heritage area), cross country skiing on the Passo delle Erbe, various sledge slopes and ski tours.
San Martin de Tor is also proud of its vast cultural and culinary possibilities. It hosts both the Museum Ladin Ciastel de Tor and the Ladin Institute Micurà de Rü, where you can learn all there is to know about the history, culture and language of the Ladin people. The several restaurants, farms and inns located in the area invite you to try out the traditional dishes of the cuisine of South Tyrol.
